Bajaj Auto has introduced the 2024 model year of its Chetak electric scooter in Premium and Urbane variants, priced at Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.15 lakh, respectively. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom. The electric scooter has undergone several enhancements, featuring a new 5-inch TFT display and an optional Techpack that includes turn-by-turn navigation, call management, and music controls.
Additionally, the new 2024 Bajaj Chetak electric scooter hill hold functionality, with the Premium variant exclusively offering a reverse mode. Notable features encompass steering locks, electronic handle, seat switches, self-cancelling turn indicators, and a helmet box lamp.
While the powertrain remains unchanged, the new Bajaj Chetak retains the same 3.2kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed ARAI-certified range of 127km. The electric scooter reaches a maximum speed of 73kmph, and Bajaj provides an onboard 800W charger capable of charging the battery for a 15.6km run in just 30 minutes.
Buyers have the option to choose from a variety of colors for the new Chetak. The Urbane variant is available in four paint schemes: Indigo Metallic Blue, Coarse Grey, Brooklyn Black, and Cyber White. The Premium variant offers three color choices – Brooklyn Black, Hazelnut, and Indigo Metallic Blue.
In other developments, Bajaj Auto is reportedly in the process of developing a CNG bike expected to be unveiled this year. The company has filed a design patent for the model, and a test mule has already been spotted during testing. The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike is anticipated to share design elements with the Bajaj CT lineup.
Looking ahead to 2024, the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer may introduce the Bajaj Pulsar NS400, sharing its engine with the Dominar. It will be more affordable than the KTM 390 Duke and Triumph Speed 400. The forthcoming Bajaj product lineup might also feature new variants and mildly updated versions of the existing Pulsar bikes.
