The first month of 2024 is going to be historic for those who believe in Hinduism. This month on January 22, Lord Rama's prana pratistha is going to take place in the grand Ram temple built in Ayodhya. In the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the statue of the child form of Lord Rama will be venerated. In Sanatan Dharma, the life prestige of the idol of God in the temple is very important. According to religious gurus, the worship is considered incomplete if the god's idol is not worshipped, but do you know why the idol of the temple is finally worshiped?

What is Prana Prestige?

In Hinduism, the life prestige of the idol is very important. Prana pratistha is required for the installation of any idol while the ritual of enlivening an idol at the time of installation is called prana pratistha. Prana means life force. Prestige means establishment. Meanwhile to bring the deity to life or to establish the life force means prana pratistha.

Know the importance of Prana Prestige

In Hinduism it is very important to worship Prana as without doing this no idol is considered worthy of worship. The life force is infused into the idol through the Prana Pratistha ritual which transforms it into a deity. After this ritual, idol worship becomes proper. Then after that ritualistic worship, rituals and chanting of mantras are done to the deities present in the idol. According to belief, after the prana pratistha of the idol, God himself appears in the idol, but the ceremony of prana pratistha must be done on the right date and at an auspicious time. Prana pratishtha muhurta is not done without success.

Prana pratistha is done by this ceremony

The idol is bathed with water from the Ganges or holy rivers before performing Prana pratistha. After which he is washed well and dressed in new clothes. The idol is kept in a clean place and decorated with sandal paste. After which the Prana Pratistha ceremony is started by reciting mantras. During this, the Lord is ritually worshiped by chanting mantras. At the end, aarti is performed and Prasad is distributed to the people.

This is the mantra of prana pratistha

May Brihaspati offer this sacrifice to the sacrificial fire, may the sacrificial fire be offered to you, and may the Visvedevas, the inhabitants of the universe, be pleased with you.

Let her life remain in her and let her life decay, and let someone call me for the march of divinity.

O Lord of the great hosts, be well established, pleased and bestower of boons.
