Sri Lanka cricket team is to play a three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe at its home ground from January 6. Pathum Nissanka out due to dengue, 19 year old player included
Sri Lanka Cricket gave the information about Pathum Nissanka being out of this ODI series by posting on social media in which they said that Nissanka has been admitted to the hospital due to dengue and hence he will be out of the ODI series against Zimbabwe. Will not play. In his place, the selectors have decided to include 19-year-old player Shevon Daniels in the team. Daniel made his debut in T20 International cricket in October last year. He is yet to debut in the ODI format. Daniel is also an opening batsman and the chances of him getting a chance are very less because the team already has two opening batsmen in the form of captain Kusal Mendis and Avishka Fernando.
