New 2024 Kia Sonet Mileage Figures Out; Diesel-iMT Most Frugal

The impending market launch of the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is just around the corner, and in anticipation, the automaker has divulged key engine specifications and fuel efficiency metrics. The subcompact SUV’s model lineup will maintain its existing engines, including the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel variants. The 1.2L naturally aspirated gasoline unit, exclusively available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, delivers a claimed power output of 83PS and torque of 115Nm, with a fuel efficiency rating of 18.83kmpl.

The turbo-petrol engine offers flexibility with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Generating a peak power of 120PS and 172Nm of torque, this engine achieves mileage figures of 18.7kmpl (iMT) and 19.2kmpl (DCT). The 1.5L diesel engine boasts a claimed power of 116PS and 250Nm of torque, offering three gearbox options: a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic.

The diesel-iMT combination stands out as the most fuel-efficient, with a claimed mileage of 22.3kmpl, while the diesel-automatic setup delivers a fuel efficiency of 18.6kmpl. The mileage figure for the diesel-manual combination is yet to be disclosed.

Aligned with the new Seltos, the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift introduces a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a revamped climate control panel, wireless phone charging, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, and cruise control. Notably, Kia has incorporated Level 1 ADAS tech and a 360-degree camera with the Sonet.

Substantial exterior modifications include a redesigned front grille, sharper LED headlamps with new LED DRLs, updated front and rear bumpers, sleeker LED fog lamps, and revised connected LED taillamps.

With these enhancements, the new Kia Sonet facelift is poised to command a higher price compared to its pre-facelift version, which is currently priced between Rs 7.79 lakh and Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
