Swati Maliwal: Swati Maliwal for Rajya Sabha.. nominated by Op


Delhi: Elections will be held on January 19 for the four Rajya Sabha (Rajya Saha) seats that will be vacant in the national capital Delhi and in the northeastern state of Sikkim. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fielded three candidates for this election.AAP) nominated. One of them is Swati Maliwal, Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women. The political affairs committee of the party announced on Friday that they are nominating her as their candidate.

The three Rajya Sabha seats in Delhi are represented by Aam Aadmi Party leaders Sanjay Singh, Sushil Kumar Gupta and Narayan Das Gupta. Their six-year tenure will end on the 27th of this month. A notification has been released for them. In this order, AAP said that it is nominating Sanjay Singh and Narayan Dasgupta for the second consecutive time.

Court OK for Sanjay Singh's nomination

It is known that Sanjay Singh is currently in jail after being arrested in a money laundering case. With this, he filed a petition in the court to allow him to go to the Rajya Sabha for the second time. He asked the jail authorities to direct him to allow him to sign the renomination papers. The court agreed to this.

The EC has issued a notification on January 2 to hold elections for the four vacant Rajya Sabha seats. Nomination papers should be filed by 9th. Elections will be held on 19th of this month.
