We reported earlier that Ford Motor Company could make its comeback in the fastest growing Indian auto industry. Few days back, Ford had cancelled its sale deal of Chennai plant with JSW Group. What’s interesting is that the American car manufacturer has filed a design patent for its new Ford Endeavour SUV.
Adding to it, Ford is looking to hire new people in India. The recent developments suggest that the popular American manufacturer could soon re-enter in our market. For people not in the know, Ford had announced to leave India in phased manner from the Indian market in 2021.
New Ford Endeavour Details
Ford had introduced the new generation Endeavour 3-row SUV in the global markets in 2022. The Endeavour nameplate has been a huge hit in the Indian market. The new Ford Endeavour 3-row SUV comes with all-new design and interior along with new engine options. The overall styling is inspired from the new F-150 Raptor. The front fascia has a new 3D radiator grille with vertical slats, newly designed dual-pod projector LED headlamps with stylish C-shaped LED daytime running lamps.
The SUV has a flat front profile, featuring a flat bonnet, and a new bumper that accommodates a wider air-intake and new fog lamp housing. The SUV also has a massive silver-finished skid plate that adds to its sporty profile. The side profile retains the boxy profile with rugged design elements. It has longer rear doors for improved access to the rear seats. It rides on big 20-inch alloy wheels. The SUV has huge flared wheel arches with thick plastic claddings, while the massive sidestep in silver finish is also on offer for easier egress and ingress. The rear has simpler design that has a C-shaped LED tail-lights, a roof-mounted spoiler and high-mounted brake light.
What’s Inside
The new Ford Endeavour comes with all-new cabin, which is more feature-loaded and premium than the previous model. It has an all-black interior scheme with leather upholstery for seats, steering wheel and gearbox. The SUV comes equipped with a vertically-stacked 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a panoramic sunroof, automatic AC, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and many more.
The new Endeavour also comes with advanced driver assistance system with features include blind zone warning, a rear cross-traffic alert, an advanced autonomous emergency braking system. The SUV gets a 360 degree camera, matrix LED headlamps, adaptive cruise control, and an automatic evasive steer assist.
Engine Options
The new generation Endeavour aka Everest is offered with 3 engine options including a new 3.0-litre turbcharged, a 3.0-litre V6 engine and a 2.3-litre EcoBoost. Depending on the market, the 3-row SUV could also get a smaller 2.0-litre diesel engine. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 10-speed automatic. It has a water wading capacity of 800mm, while the functional roof can hold up to 350kgs.
