Having a remote control car or dreaming of having your favorite remote control car was a part of many of our childhood. The excitement of controlling something with your own hands helped us experience a sense of power and responsibility that is usually absent at that age. Sony in collaboration with Honda has come up with an innovation that is a bigger manifestation of the same dream.
Sony has unveiled a concept car at an expo and the President and COO of Sony Honda Mobility used a PS5 controller to bring the car on the stage, surprising the spectators. The Sony Afeela, which has been developed with Honda, is a concept electric vehicle which plans to have a 400 kW dual motor, all wheel drive.
Unfortunately for the fans, the remote control feature is not going to be a part of the final production car and it was used just for the demo at the exhibition. The car is expected to hit the roads by 2024. There is no clarity however on how much it will cost.
The car has taken inspiration from many video game features that makes it unique from the other cars. Sony Honda Mobility is a joint venture of the two companies working to build futuristic cars.
