Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s recent film Annapoorani sparked a huge controversy. After a poor theatrical run, the film was recently premiered on OTT platform Netflix. A case was filed against the makers and also netizens started trending #BoycottNetflix alleging that the film promotes Hinduphobic content.
There are a few scenes in the film where the lead character, who is a Brahmin, is attracted by the smell of meat. In another scene, it is said that even Lord Rama was a meat-eater.
A section of people were irked by these scenes and the movie’s content. Yesterday, a case was filed against the makers and today, people started trending #BoycottNetflix on social media.
