Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch 3 new cars including the new Swift, new Dzire and the eVX electric SUV in the country in 2024. In order to further strengthen its market position, the company is working on multiple new SUVs including a sub-4 meter micro SUV and a bigger 3-row SUV. A new media report claims that Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch 8 new models in the Indian market in the next 2-3 years.

Maruti Suzuki To Launch 8 New Cars, SUVs In 2-3 Years

While details about the new products are yet to be revealed, we expect that the company will have 2-3 new EVs in the country by 2026. According to the AutoCarIndia’s January 2024 Magazine cover, the company will introduce a new small electric hatchback and a new mini MPV based on the Suzuki Spacia on sale in the brand’s home market.

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly to launch the new mini MPV based on the Spacia by 2026. This 7-seater model, codenamed YDB, will sit below 4 meters in length. It will be powered by a new Z-series 1.2L petrol engine, which will soon power the new Swift and the Dzire. The new small MPV is expected to be retailed through NEXA dealerships and will rival the Renault Triber.

Maruti Suzuki Y43 Small SUV

Maruti Suzuki is also reportedly working on an all-new micro SUV, codenamed Y43which is likely to be launched by 2026-27. This new A-segment SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Exter and the segment-leader Tata Punch. Based on the HEARTECT platform, the new micro SUV is likely to be powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-series engine with a hybrid system.

The Indo-Japanese automaker is also preparing an all-new 3-row SUV, codenamed Y17which will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector and the Mahindra XUV700. It is expected to be launched sometime in 2025. It will be based on Suzuki’s Global C architecture, which also underpins the Grand Vitara and the Brezza. The new Maruti 7-seater SUV is likely to be offered with two powertrain options including the 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid and the 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid.

Suzuki eWX Electric

Maruti Suzuki is also looking at an entry-level electric hatchback, which will rival the Tata Tiago EV. The new model is reportedly to be the electric version of the WagonR hatchback. Suzuki had showcased the eWX concept, which previews the brand’s future entry-level electric hatch. The company has not revealed any details about the interiors, features, battery or electric motors. It is claimed to offer a range of up to 230km in one full charge.

MSIL is planning to launch the new generation Swift and Dzire sedan in the country in 2024. Both models are based on the modified HEARTECT platform and will come with an all-new 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine with a hybrid powertrain. The new models will come with design changes and an all-new interior, which is inspired from the Fronx and the Baleno.

New Maruti Swift Features

Maruti Suzuki will launch the production version of the eVX electric SUV in the country in 2024. It will be locally developed at Suzuki’s Gujarat based manufacturing plant. The electric SUV concept measures 4.3 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width and 1.6 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.7 meters. It will be offered with a 60kWh battery pack with LFP blade cell and is expected to offer a range of up to 550km on a single charge. It is also expected to receive a smaller 48kWh battery pack, which is likely to offer around 400km real-world range.
