Salaar has done HIT business in Telugu states but it couldn’t do any magic in the neighboring Southern states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, or Kerala.
Interestingly, the real goldmine for Salaar turned out to be the Hindi belts, following the Telugu states, significantly contributing to the film’s substantial revenue recovery.
This phenomenon isn’t exclusive to Salaar alone. Many Telugu pan-Indian films are discovering that the Hindi belt is becoming a powerhouse for box office collections.
As long as a film boasts compelling content, some star power, and ample action elements, the Hindi market proves to be the ultimate savior for Telugu pan-Indian ventures in recovering their costs.
Looking ahead, upcoming Telugu pan-Indian releases like Pushpa 2, Devara, Kalki, and Game Changer should strategically focus on captivating the imagination of the Hindi audience, given the tremendous potential it holds.
It’s becoming increasingly evident that no pan-Indian film can surpass the coveted 1000-crore mark without substantial support from the Hindi markets, given their significant contribution. The promising aspect is that there is still a vast reservoir of untapped potential in these regions.
If North Indian circuits join the party, then well made Telugu pan-Indian films will single-handedly rule Indian cinema in the coming days.
