The long-awaited all-electric Punch micro SUV debuted in India last week. Now, the homegrown UV maker has confirmed that the Tata Punch EV will go on sale in our market on January 17, 2024. Interested buyers can book the new Punch EV online or at authorised Tata dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. Set to rival the Citroen eC3, the new Punch EV is expected to cost somewhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 13 lakh.
New Architecture
Based on the new Gen 2 EV architecture (called acti.ev), the new Punch EV is the fourth all-electric Tata model in the Indian market. The new architecture is flexible enough to accommodate different body styles and bigger battery packs. In fact, the upcoming Curvv electric SUV Coupe will also be designed and developed on this all-electric architecture. This platform is completely different from the Gen 1 architecture that underpins the electric versions of the Tata Tiago, Tigor and the Nexon.
