Meenakshi Chaudhary gained some limelight with the success of ‘HIT 2. She had her eyes set on soaring to greater heights with her upcoming release, ‘Guntur Kaaram’ with Mahesh Babu.
Renowned for her scintillating photo shoots on social media that showcase her ‘assets’ generously, her fanbase anticipated her in a romantic role alongside Mahesh in the film with decent screen time.
However, Meenakshi’s fans were in for a rude shock when they witnessed her relegated to the role that was more or less of a maid, a part that could easily be done by an extra. Her sole purpose in the film seemed to be confined to serving tea, coffee, and omelets, and pouring alcohol to Mahesh. The disappointment peaked as she didn’t even have a noteworthy dialogue in the whole film.
Director Trivikram, known for sidelining heroines in second lead roles, seemed to have taken it to the extreme, bordering on the verge of humiliation for the hot actress. Fans consider it a criminal act to waste the potential of a glamorous talent like Meenakshi in such an inconsequential role.
There were reports last year that indicated that Meenakshi was set to play the second female lead, a role that was initially offered to Sreeleela. With Pooja Hegde’s departure from the film, Sreeleela was promoted to the position of the main heroine, leading to Meenakshi taking on the role originally earmarked for Sreeleela.
After watching the film many are wondering whether Sreeleela would have encountered similar treatment as a maid in the film if Pooja Hegde had not exited. Or maybe her role would have been designed differently, affording her a more substantial and respectable role in the narrative.
