Rohit Sharma becomes first player to achieve this feat in men’s T20Is | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma created history by making his appearance in the second T20I against Afghanistan in Indore on Sunday. He owned the record of becoming the first player to play 150 men’s T20Is.
After a 14-month hiatus from the shortest format of international cricket, Rohit made his comeback to the team in the first T20I in Mohali, where he also assumed the role of captain.
Rohit also holds the record for the highest number of sixes in T20 Internationals, having smashed 182. Additionally, he ranks second in the list of highest run-scorers in the format, amassing 3853 runs. Kohli is the only player ahead of Rohit in this list.

The match also saw star batter Virat Kohli returning to the T20I fold after a gap of 14 months. He will be playing his first T20 international since November 2022 and missed the opener of the three-match series, which the hosts lead 1-0.
Talking about the toss, Rohit won the coin toss and asked Afghanistan to bat first.
Yashasvi Jaiswalwho has regained fitness, was included in the team as one of the two changes. Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma were omitted from the playing XI.
Ireland’s Paul Stirling is second on the list with 134 T20Is followed by compatriot George Dockrell (128 matches) and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik (124 matches).
