AP Employees Union Leader Gets Anticipatory Bail

Vijayawada: The Supreme Court granted anticipatory bail to Andhra Pradesh Government Employees’ Association president K.R. Suryanarayana in a case in New Delhi on Tuesday. A two-judge bench comprising Justice Abhay S. Oka and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan heard the petition in New Delhi on Tuesday and delivered the verdict. Earlier, the state government placed Suryanarayana under suspension.

He was accused of charges including corruption, falsification of records, extortion, and causing a loss to the state exchequer. A complaint was lodged against five officers, including Suryanarayana, who worked in the commercial tax department.

Suryanarayana received interim bail from the apex court on September 15, 2023, and was granted regular anticipatory bail on Tuesday.
