Filmfare Awards, often dubbed as the Oscars of India, maintain their stature as the country’s most renowned film honors, despite a recent dip in credibility. The nominations for the eagerly anticipated 69th edition were disclosed recently, bringing excitement to film enthusiasts.
Shah Rukh Khan has secured two Best Actor nominations for ‘Jawan’ and ‘Dunki.’ ‘Animal,’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor, takes the lead with a remarkable 19 nominations, while Vikrant Massey’s ’12th Fail’ earns recognition across various categories.
However, the announcement left fans of Anirudh disheartened, particularly in the Best Background Score category. Anirudh’s brilliant BGM in ‘Jawan‘ significantly contributed to the film’s phenomenal success, yet his name was conspicuously absent from the nominations. The list includes:
– Ketan Sodha (Sam Bahadur)
– Alokananda Dasgupta (Three Of Us)
– Shantanu Moitra (12th Fail)
– Tapas Relia (Goldfish)
– Harshavardhan Rameshwar (Animal)
– Karel Antonin (Afwaah)
– Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara (Pathaan)
Despite delivering the year’s biggest hit, Bollywood appears to have overlooked Anirudh and his impactful contribution. Shah Rukh Khan’s fans share the disappointment, expressing frustration at Anirudh’s omission from the BGM nominations.
Criticism is directed at Filmfare for neglecting a score as noteworthy as the one in ‘Jawan.’ It’s worth noting that Anirudh has secured a nomination in the Best Music category.
