Sr judges comments should not be distorted, says Bonda Uma

Maintaining that it is not correct to distort the comments made by the senior judges, former MLA and senior TDP leader, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, said on Wednesday that it is nothing but a heinous act.

Bonda Uma told media persons at the party headquarters here that the ruling YSRCP leaders could not prove in the past five years that TDP supremo and former chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, has resorted to even five paise corruption in the Skill Development case levelled against him. Additional Advocate General (AAG), Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy, is acting as the YSRCP agent, Bonda Uma said and advised the AAG to at least stop now talking politics.

Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy has caste and party mania, Bonda Uma said and added that the comments made by the High Court and the Supreme Court judges are being distorted, particularly by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials, the AAG and the team of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Initially, the charges were made that Rs 3,300 cr corruption in the Skill Development case which was later brought down to Rs 317 cr and finally a misinformation campaign was launched that Rs 27 cr was diverted to the party fund,” he stated.

Asking as to why evidence could not be produced before the courts to this effect for the past 20 months, Bonda Uma said that even a single charge could not be proved. Is Ponnavolu Sudhakar dare enough to produce necessary evidence at least now, he asked.

Stating that the TDP has filed a quash petition under Section 17A, he said that the State Government is wasting crores of public money by engaging senior advocates to argue in the case. The YSRCP is finding fault with the Skill Development which had the Cabinet approval, the former MLA said and felt that the AAG and the State Government should realise the fact at least now.

Bonda Uma felt that the cases against Chandrababu Naidu have been filed only for personal gains and pointed out that a senior judge of the Supreme Court has rejected the arguments of Jagan and the CID and said that Section 17A is applicable. Also, the High Court, while granting bail to Chandrababu Naidu, commented that the CID could not produce evidence even in a single case filed against Chandrababu Naidu and asked how the policy decisions of the earlier government could be attributed to the former chief minister, he pointed out.

Vijayamma, mother of Jagan, has withdrawn the case filed against Chandrababu Naidu as she could not produce any evidence, he said and added that even the cases filed by the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the father of Jagan, too did not stand before the law. How YSRCP MP, Avinash Reddy, who is the prime accused in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case got bail even without going to jail, he asked.

Kodi Katti Seenu has been behind the bars for the past five years as Jagan did not attend the court hearings, Bonda Uma said and felt that all this is a drama being played by Jagan. How Jagan has been getting the exemptions which no other leader till now and how he got 3,500 adjournments in 38 cases, he asked.

The Supreme Court even questioned Jagan as to how he could earn Rs 43,000 cr in such a short period, Bonda Uma said and stated that it is really surprising that the family of Jagan which was in a position to sell their own house in Hyderabad in 2004 could rise to the level of having Rs 4 lakh cr. No Chief Minister in the country has risen so high in such a short period, he remarked.

Jagan and his team should at least now stop resorting to misinformation campaign, Bonda Uma added.
