Rohit then took a single off the third ball of the over, handing the baton to Rinku, who hit three humongous back-to-back sixes off the final three balls.
The duo equalled the record set by Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard. Both Yuvraj and Pollard had previously achieved this remarkable milestone by hitting six sixes in a single over against England and Sri Lanka, respectively.
Despite a shaky start that saw India struggling at 22-4, with star batsman Virat Kohli dismissed for a first-ball duck after choosing to bat first in Bengaluru, Rohit emerged as the saviour.
