Officials of the Telangana Governor’s office have filed a police complaint about the alleged hacking of the official account of Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on X (formerly Twitter). The cyber crimes police of Hyderabad has booked a case and is investigating.
Cyber Crimes’ social media wing officials said that a complaint was received on January 15 stating that the handle was hacked by unidentified persons. “The account has been compromised. So far, we haven’t observed any malicious activity from the handle. We have started a probe to restore it,” said the officials.
Kavitha reports hacking of account
Meanwhile, unidentified hackers also allegedly targeted the X handle of MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Wednesday. The account was hacked and compromised for a few hours, said the MLC.
The MLC posted a tweet at 5.39 p.m. tagging the DGP of Telangana State, the Cyberabad police along with the TSCSB saying, “My social media account experienced a brief unauthorised access. The suspicious activities and contents during this time do not reflect our values. Security measures have been reinforced, and we will observe a downtime to ensure security and we appreciate your understanding as my office addresses this issue promptly. We will be officially lodging a complaint with the Cyber Police in this regard.”
