WhatsApp Channels Get More Features, More Mess

WhatsApp’s app Channel feature is getting some important enhancements, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said today in a statement on his personal WhatsApp channel. The additional features are designed to increase user interaction with the comparatively recent product.

One of the most common innovations is the capacity to transmit voice updates via channels, which mirrors the voice messaging function. With speech being a handy and personal mode of communication for many, including audio updates into channels helps channel makers engage with their viewership in a more personal manner.

Polls are another tool for Channels to engage their audience. Channels may now post polls in which users can vote, allowing them to collect feedback and evaluate interest. Users may now post Channel updates on their WhatsApp status to help Channels reach a larger audience. This spontaneous sharing can help Channel makers increase their following.

Operating a Channel has also been easier with the possibility of having up to 16 admins. This will enable bigger Channels to better manage their communities and content. WhatsApp Channels have already reached 500 million monthly active users, according to the site, thanks to channels from celebrities such as Katrina Kaif and Vijay Deverakonda, as well as companies such as the Mumbai Indians, Mercedes F1, and Netflix.
