Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the blind vigilante Daredevil in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, a sequel to the widely praised Netflix show that lasted two seasons. But recent reports have it that the series production is faced with serious challenges and delays.
On some social media platforms, the series has still not begun filming, despite being announced in July 2022. It is also popular that the number of episodes has fluctuated from 18, and the showrunner and the directors have changed. These changes are quite mysterious, however, some say it could be because of creative differences, budget issues, or the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.
This has not been the first time when Marvel has had to struggle with regards to its Daredevil material either. Since there was a complicated agreement with Disney, in 2018, the Netflix series was cancelled together with the other Marvel series on the streaming platform. This is a dark series with an intricate plot and exciting action sequences, which are unlike other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects.
However, under current production conditions, it is unclear when the series will be released, and whether it will meet the fans’ expectations. Marvel declined to speak about the issue yet some sources claim that the filming will continue in winter of 2024. Until then, fans will have to wait and see if Daredevil will be born again, or if he will remain in the dark.
