Samsung One UI 6.1 lets you start Bluetooth Auracast broadcasts

Samsung introduced the One UI 6.1 software with the Galaxy S24 series earlier this week. This new version of One UI brings several new features and improvements, including the new Samsung Find app, Super HDR support, and several other AI-powered features. It also brings a new Bluetooth feature.

One UI 6.1 improves Bluetooth Aurcast

Samsung introduced Bluetooth Aurcast to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro a few months ago, but it didn’t equip its phones with the ability to create Bluetooth Auracast audiocasts that others can join. The company did so with the One UI 6.1 update, as Spotted by Mishaal Rahman. As you can see in the screenshots below, you can create ‘Broadcast Sound Using Auracast’ from the Bluetooth settings menu.

With this feature, multiple Bluetooth earphones with LE Audio and Auracast can join a single audio broadcast. For example, you can create an Auracast for the music you’re listening to on your Galaxy S24, and multiple people with their Galaxy Buds 2 Pros can join the same audiocast to listen your music.

When others are joining the Auracast audiocast originating from your smartphone, they would need a four-digit password so that unwanted people can’t join your audiocast. This feature could be released to existing Samsung smartphones and tablets with the One UI 6.1 update. However, the device will need to feature Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio capabilities.
