Galaxy S24 is first Samsung phone with new Quick Share and Ultra HDR

Samsung introduced a lot of new features with the Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy 24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are the first phones to run One UI 6.1 out of the box, and they have many new features, including the ability to become a webcam for your Galaxy tablet. The new software also makes the Galaxy S24 series the first to have the new Quick Share and Ultra HDR.

The Galaxy S24 series is the first in Samsung’s lineup of smartphones to feature the new Quick Share. A few days ago, it was revealed that Google might integrate Nearby Share into Samsung’s Quick Share, and it was made official a few days ago. Thanks to the merger of Quick Share and Nearby Share, Android users won’t get confused between the two features. While Nearby Share worked on all Android smartphones and tablets, it was slow compared to Quick Share and proprietary file-sharing systems from other Android smartphone makers. Quick Share was quite fast, but it wasn’t available on non-Samsung phones. Now, it is a single system, and it’s fast.

Samsung announced the Super HDR feature at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. It brings the ability to preview, shoot, view, edit, and upload HDR images on the Galaxy S24 series. Android expert Mishaal Rahman has confirmed that Samsung is using Google’s Ultra HDR format for the Super HDR feature. It means images and videos shot in Super HDR using the Galaxy S24 will work with Google Messages, Google Photos, and other apps that will integrate Google’s Ultra HDR format in the future.

The South Korean firm is also working with Instagram, Snapchat, and other social network apps to integrate the Super HDR feature and other advanced camera features like Night Mode, multi-frame noise reduction, and video stabilization.
