Indian Army deployed MRSAM missiles near the western border, know their power – Indian Army MRSAM missile unit deployed on western front near Pak border

There is news of Indian Army deploying MRSAM missile unit near Pakistan border. Earlier, it was also deployed on the Navy's aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. It is a medium range surface to air missile (MRSAM). This missile attacks the enemy at a speed of 2448 km/hr.

This missile releases less smoke. Also, due to high speed the enemy is not able to trace it. This missile has been developed by DRDO in collaboration with Israel's IAI company. The Barak missile received by India from Israel is also MRSAM.

Surface-to-air missile army weapon system consists of command post, multi-function radar, mobile launcher system. It is based on Israel's dangerous missile Barak-8. The weight of MRSAM is around 275 kg. Length is 4.5 meters and diameter is 0.45 meters. 60 kg warhead i.e. weapon can be loaded on this missile.

100 km range, low smoke missile

It is a two-stage missile, which releases less smoke after launch. Once launched, MRSAM can directly hit targets up to 16 km in the sky. However, its range is from half a km to 100 km. That means it can destroy any enemy vehicle, aircraft, drone or missile coming in this range.

The enemy will be killed even if he only uses the radio.

The new thing in MRSAM missile is Radio Frequency Seeker, that is, even if the enemy vehicle is using only radio to dodge, it will still shoot it down. India has talked about purchasing five regiments of MRSAM missiles from Israel. It will come with 40 launchers and 200 missiles. The price of this deal is around Rs 17 thousand crores.
