Former Chief Minister of Bihar and Hindustani Awam Morcha chief Jitan Ram Manjhi told that when did he last meet Nitish Kumar? What happened?
Were going to Delhi. Both met in flight. Jeetan Saptnik was. Along with BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain. Manjhi told that he did not want to talk. Nitish even called him from the front seat, but he did not go. Then five minutes later, writer, leader and former national spokesperson of Congress Sanjay Jha came and told him that the Chief Minister wanted to inquire about his well-being.
What happened between ex-CM and CM?
“Nitish ji asked us why are you so aggressive against us? So we said that you have expelled us from the party, so we will definitely be against you, right?”
For the story of being expelled from the party, we will have to go back a little. In June 2023, Jitan Ram Manjhi's son Santosh Suman resigned from the cabinet of Nitish government. There was an uproar everywhere that another big party was leaving Nitish's side, which happened. In fact, a few days before this incident, Jitan Ram along with four MLAs had gone to meet the Chief Minister at his residence. According to Manjhi, we had to talk about some here and there problems. But when we went there there was no discussion on this. Discussion started that Hindustani Awam Morcha should be merged into Janata Dal United.
“Vijay Chaudhary (Finance Minister of Bihar) was there. There were five of us and the Chief Minister was there. When we asked our MLAs, they started saying what's the harm! Till then Nitish said – 'Brother, join us. Otherwise out. Go.'
Then things went on. We told that we had come to talk about something else. That too was ignored. Then ask what do you think about merging? We told him how to come alone. So he said that your MLAs are already saying, what is the harm. We told them that the MLAs are wrong. This will not be said tomorrow. This is the weakness in us that no one speaks in front of you. On this he again says think about it, otherwise go out.
“Twice he told me to go out.”
Manjhi came back. Called a meeting of the core group. Called an executive meeting. Called Vijay Chaudhary and clearly expressed his opinion that he will not merge with JD(U) under any circumstances. In support of Nitish ji, will support. But we will not meet.
The answer came from the front – 'Then you will have to go out'. Jitan Ram said – 'We are ready to go out'. Told my son that he would have to resign.
Lalu Prasad ji did not mediate? When asked about this, Manjhi told that he also used to talk about removing (him).
In recent times also their disputes have been visible on public platforms. During the debate on caste survey in the Assembly, Jitan Ram Manjhi had questioned the figures. On this, Nitish had said that Manjhi had become the Chief Minister because of his stupidity.
