S.A. Chandrasekhar, the father of Tamil Superstar Thalapathy Vijay, recently voiced his criticism towards Leo’s director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
At a recent movie event, Chandrasekhar expressed his concern about the diminishing importance of screenplay in today’s films. He emphasized that while directors may believe they are great because of a hero’s presence, a good storyline is crucial for a film’s success.
Chandrasekhar recounted an incident where he provided feedback to a director about a film’s first half being excellent but received no response when he pointed out issues with the second half. He candidly mentioned to the director that elements such as religious beliefs and a father’s intent to kill his own son seemed unreal and needed reconsideration.
Though he didn’t name anyone, it was evident he was referring to Lokesh Kanagaraj. Chandrasekhar urged directors to consider and respect feedback, emphasizing that constructive criticism could lead to better outcomes.
The controversy surrounding “Leo” escalated when the audience echoed Chandrasekhar’s sentiments, particularly criticizing the illogical flashback episode. In response, Lokesh Kanagaraj and his team claimed that the entire flashback portion was subjective and not necessarily true, which faced backlash from viewers.
