Devara Creates Doubts On Chiranjeevi's Viswambhara

It is an established fact that VFX-heavy films need an extended post production period. That is why we see almost every big-budget film that relies on VFX get postponed from the original release date due to the delay in work.

The same thing was seen in the case of Devara recently. The makers announced the release date last year itself, in the hope of wrapping up the project in 12 months. The shoot also progressed very well in accordance with the plan. But the VFX-oriented post-production got elongated, as per the norm, and the film is getting delayed. It is confirmed to move out

Now, Chiranjeevi’s Viswambhara is tentatively up for release on the 10th of January, 2025 on the occasion of Sankranthi. Being a fantasy film, this Chiru starrer also relies a lot on VFX. But the makers are ambitiously aiming for the early Sankranthi slot, hoping to complete the shoot in under a year.

Going by the established precedent, Chiru could go the Devara way as it is nearly impossible to execute a VFX film in less than 12 months. So, much like how Devara had to postpone the release plan due to the VFX delay despite the quick shooting rate, Chiru’s film might also not make it on time for the Sankranthi slot.

But if the team can work a miracle and be ready on time, then it will be an overwhelmingly good job, otherwise, it will be an expectedly delayed release.
