King Akkineni Nagarjuna has once again given a chance to a debutant director and made a quick delivery for the Sankranti season by remaking a Malayalam film.
Naa Saami Ranga comes with a reasonable break-even target for senior star Nagarjuna as the film is part of a multi-film deal for the U.S. distributor.
The break-even for Naa Saami Ranga is valued between $175K-$200K but still ended up as a flop venture in this market.
Naa Saami Ranga‘s North American gross closed at $118,886.
The main reasons for this poor performance are mainly Nag’s previous track record and the Hanuman effect on the film. Audiences decided to skip it in the theaters and watch it on OTT, resulting in a flop tally in the end.
When it comes to the debutant director, Vijay Binni also failed to deliver a film that will compel audiences to go to theaters. The talk wasn’t necessarily negative, but it wasn’t enough in this market.
