Mahindra & Mahindra has undertaken extensive testing of its upcoming range of electric SUVsand recent sightings of the Mahindra XUV.e9 test mule, clad in blue camouflage, have provided intriguing insights. The latest images, the clearest to date, showcase the imposing road presence of the coupe SUV, characterized by a sloping roofline and production-ready connected taillamps, revealed for the first time.

The Mahindra XUV.e9, captured in these images, shows a modest rear glass area, complemented by a shark fin antenna and a split aero rear spoiler. Pronounced wheel arches and body cladding contribute to its massive appearance, while flush door handles adorn the front, with the rear door handles ingeniously mounted on the C-pillar. Staying true to its concept, the production-ready XUV.e9 will feature a closed-off grille, a full-width LED band, and bumper-mounted headlamps at the front end. Notably, the final version is expected to feature LED units, departing from the halogen headlights seen in the initial concept.

Previous spy images hinted at a triple-screen setup, serving as an infotainment system and instrument cluster for both the front passenger and driver. The interior is anticipated to showcase a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, two dials, and a center console gear shift lever. While official details on the XUV.e9 EV are yet to be disclosed, expectations are high for the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology, a Heads-Up Display (HUD) with augmented navigation, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

The powertrain setup of the forthcoming Mahindra XUV.e9 is likely to include an 80kWh battery pack and a dual-motor configuration, offering a combined power output ranging between 230bhp and 350bhp. Speculations indicate an electric range of approximately 435km to 450km under WLTP testing norms, with a maximum speed reaching 200kmph.
