Skoda Auto is all set to enter the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market with the Enyaq iV, which recently unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024. Although the official launch timeline remains undisclosed, the electric SUV is anticipated to hit the market in the coming months, potentially by April.
Designed on the electric architecture derived from the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, shared with the Volkswagen iD4 and Audi Q4 e-tron, the Skoda Enyaq iV is set to make a significant impact.
In the Indian market, Skoda is likely to introduce the fully-loaded Enyaq 80X variant exclusively. Equipped with a 77kWh battery pack and a dual electric motor setup on each axle, the EV promises an impressive claimed range of up to 513km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. The Enyaq iV offers a combined power output of 265bhp, and accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in a just 6.9 seconds. The electric SUV supports a 125kW DC fast charger. With a sleek drag coefficient of 0.27 and an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup, the Enyaq iV will ensure commendable off-road functionality. Buyers will have two configuration options – a single motor with Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and a dual motor with AWD. Dimensionally, the Skoda electric SUV measures 4648mm in length, 1879mm in width, 1616mm in height, and features a wheelbase of 2765mm.
Inside the Enyaq iV, sustainable and recycled materials define the interior. The inclusion of an e-SIM facilitates connected functionalities, complemented by features like gesture control and voice assistance.
The electric SUV also has a 5.3-inch digital instrument display offering four different layouts, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, upholstery combining leather and microfibre fabric, ambient lighting, an optional LED backlit grille featuring a captivating coming/leaving home animation, 19-inch Proteus alloy wheels, and LED headlamps and taillamps.
