Fans Hurt By Vijay’s Last Leg Of Films

Actor Vijay

Thalapathy Vijay hit headlines recently with the announcement of his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Surprising his fans, he also declared his exit from the cinema industry.

Vijay disclosed his intention to focus entirely on politics in Tamil Nadu after completing two films, “GOAT” and an untitled project.

In his 68th film, Vijay will be seen in a dual role. Titled “The Greatest Of All Time,” this venture with Venkat Prabhu is slated for a 2024 release.

Following “GOAT,” Vijay plans to star in one final film, his 69th, tentatively titled “Thalapathy 69,” with acclaimed director Vetrimaaran and produced by DVV Danayya. Discussions are underway for this collaboration, marking their first project together.

Fans express dissatisfaction with Vijay’s recent film selections, particularly as he nears the end of his cinematic career before entering politics. Venkat Prabhu’s track record in the past few years, apart from “Maanaadu,” hasn’t been impressive, with his latest film “Custody” turning out to be a washout.

Similarly, Vetrimaaran’s films, though acclaimed by critics, may not always resonate with mainstream audiences. Reports suggesting Vijay’s interest in remaking Balakrishna’s “Bhagavanth Kesari” add to the uncertainty surrounding his project choices.

Fans lament Vijay’s seeming disregard for their expectations, questioning why he hasn’t pursued collaborations with directors like Shankar or Lokesh Kanagaraj for politically relevant projects.

The fate of Vijay’s anticipated project with Atlee, rumored to star Shah Rukh Khan as well, remains unknown, as does his commitment to a film with Karthik Subbaraj.

Overall, fans are left perplexed and disheartened by Vijay’s recent choice of films which neither excite the fans nor the usual audience.
