Sandeep Reddy Vanga vs Prashanth Neel: OTT War and Excuses!

Sandeep Vanga Prashanth Neel

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ is setting new viewership records for Netflix. ‘Animal’ has consistently secured the top position for the second week in a row, climbing from the fourth to the third position in the non-English top 10 global category, according to the official Netflix top 10 report.

At the same time, Prashanth Neel and Prabhas’ ‘Salaar,’ which was in the top 10, has exited from the list. ‘Salaar’ has also garnered global viewership, not just in India.

Prabhas fans argue that it is unfair to compare ‘Salaar’ with ‘Animal,’ as Animal is available in all regional languages and Hindi, which generates the majority of views. ‘Salaar’ is yet to stream in Hindi on Netflix. Also, ‘Animal’ is filled with bold content and controversies, helping boost the views. However, ‘Salaar’ does not have this advantage to gain free publicity.

While this is a valid point, ‘Salaar’ hasn’t sparked the same level of debate as ‘Animal,’ and director Sandeep Vanga continues to make headlines with his controversial comments every other day.

However, unlike ‘Animal,’ there hasn’t been a single controversial word from director Prashanth Neel before or after the release of ‘Salaar.’ It remains to be seen if the Hindi version of ‘Salaar’ on OTT will set any viewership records for Netflix.
