Tom Cruise and Tarantino Pairing Up?

Quentin Tarantino, who is known for iconic films like “Pulp Fiction,” “Django Unchained,” is gearing up for his final film, “The Movie Critic.” Latest buzz surrounds Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise who is in talks to join the cast, marking a potential dream collaboration.

According to insider reports, Cruise is keeping up with his busy schedule, especially with commitments to “Mission: Impossible 8.” Cruise is reportedly rearranging his schedule to accommodate a potential “small role or cameo” in “The Movie Critic,” underscoring the actor’s desire to be a part of Tarantino’s farewell project.

The anticipation for Tarantino’s final masterpiece has been heightened as fans express excitement over the director’s penchant for assembling a stellar cast. A person on X commented, “Tarantino casting these big actors like they’re infinity stones. He’s going ALL OUT for his final film.”

Though information on the plot is scarce, it is known to be set in 1970s California, and is revolving around a cynical film critic based on a real but relatively unknown person. The interesting premise of the film combined with the possibility of Brad Pitt joining the cast has increased the expectations for Tarantino’s “big show-stopping climax.”

In a 2023 interview, Tarantino shed light on the inspiration behind “The Movie Critic,” describing the central character as a critic for a “porno rag” whose reviews were a unique blend of early Howard Stern and Travis Bickle from “Taxi Driver.”

The director has long expressed his desire to conclude his career with ten films though we can’t be sure if this means complete retirement from industry or not. The looming question on the project is why Tarantino chose “The Movie Critic” as his final film.
