Yashasvi Jaiswal: Former England Captain Hails Yashasvi Jaiswal as a Big Threat for Visitors | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former England captain Michael Vaughan has hailed young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and called him a “problem” for the Three Lions. Vaughan also described Jaiswal as an “unbelievable player” in a recent episode of the Club Prairie Fire Podcast.
Jaiswal’s stellar performance in the second Test against England, where he notched a marathon double century in Visakhapatnam, has left Vaughan impressed.
Reflecting on his encounter with Jaiswal in Mumbai last year, Vaughan highlighted the opener’s rapid rise in the cricketing arena. “I would say he is a problem for England. He is an issue. He is an unbelievable player. I met him in Mumbai and he got a hundred the next day in the IPL. Now he has gone on to score a double-hundred against the best team in the world,” Vaughan remarked on the podcast.
At the age of 22 years and 37 days, Jaiswal became the third-youngest Indian player in history to score a Test double hundredjoining the elite company of cricketing legends.
His achievement places him in the esteemed company of Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar, showcasing his prodigious talent at a young age.

Notably, Jaiswal’s remarkable feat also marks him as only the fourth Indian left-hander to smash a Test double ton, following in the footsteps of Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir, and Kambli.
With an impressive record of 637 runs in 10 innings at an average of 57.90 and a strike rate of 63.57 in Test cricket, along with a stellar performance in T20Is, where he has amassed 502 runs at an average of 33.46 and a strike rate of 161.93, Jaiswal’s potential as an all-format star for India is evident.
