IND vs ENG Live Score, 3rd Test Day 3: With Ravichandran Ashwin withdrawing from the 3rd Test, India will turn to their other bowlers to keep England quiet.

IND vs ENG 3rd Test Day 3 Live Score: India will look to bounce back from Ravichandran Ashwin’s absence as they face England.

India vs England 3rd Test Day 3 Live Score: The plans and strategies of the Indian team went for a tailspin on late Thursday night when Ravichandran Ashwin was forced to withdraw from the Test squad due to a family emergency

Now, with Ben Duckett looking in ominous touch with an uneaten 133 and Joe Root for company, India have to contend with a Bazballing English side without one of their most potent weapons. It’s still not unclear though if Ashwin will be available for the last 2 Tests but that is a problem for a different time.

Earlier in the day, Ashwin had spearheaded India’s bowling attack when he notched up Zak Crawley for his 500th Test wicket. With that, he also became only the second Indian to take 500 wickets in the longest format. Mohammed Siraj also sent back Ollie Pope cheaply as England trail India by 238 runs.

With inputs from Tanishq V/Pratyush Raj and Sriram Veera from Rajkot.

Ashwin’s father Ravichandran on his son’s 500th Test wicket: ‘Turning point was his mother’s idea to switch to spin bowling because of wheezing’

Speaking to the media at the end of second day’s play, R Ashwin dedicated his 500th Test wicket to his father. “It’s been quite a long journey. Firstly I’d like to dedicate this feat to my father. He’s been with me through thick and thin, probably had a heart-attack every time he’s watched me play. His health has probably gone for a toss because of that.” Ashwin’s father, Ravichandran, recalls his son’s journey, which started with tennis ball cricket on the streets of West Mambalam in Chennai.

The 500-wicket milestone is an unforgettable moment for me. I’ve been dreaming about for a long time and this wicket will keep playing in my mind until my last breath.

My memory jogs back to the days when I took him on my scooter to school and for coaching. For a father to have a wish or a dream is one thing. But for the son to buy into it and make sacrifices is different. Ashwin made us live a dream.

To concentrate on both studies and sports is not easy. When he was young, he understood the effort I was putting in for him. (READ MORE)
