Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx has been a game-changer for the Indo-Japanese automaker since its introduction to the market. Demonstrating its popularity, the compact crossover achieved the remarkable feat of crossing the one lakh sales milestone within a just 10 months of its launch. This success has significantly contributed to Maruti Suzuki’s 19.7 percent share of the SUV segment in CY2023, a substantial leap from 10.4 percent in CY2022.
To further enhance its sales performance, the company is offering exciting benefits on the Maruti Fronx turbo petrol variants, including a cash discount of up to Rs 60,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 10,000. However, no such offers are available on the naturally aspirated petrol variants of the compact crossover.

Under the hood, the Fronx offers two engine options: a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine delivering 99bhp with 148Nm of torque, and a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 89bhp with 113Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and an AMT unit.
Maruti Fronx Hybrid Launch On Cards
Media reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce a new hybrid systemcodenamed HEV, with the Fronx facelift expected in 2025. This new powertrain setup will feature Suzuki’s Z12E 3-cylinder petrol engine, slated for debut in the new-gen Swift hatchback. Paired with a battery pack ranging from 1.5kWh to 2kWh and an electric motor, this hybrid system will be used for Maruti Suzuki’s future mass-market vehicles, including the new-generation Baleno (in 2026), Spacia-based mini MPV (in 2026), Swift (in 2027), and new-gen Brezza (in 2029).
Distinguishing itself from Toyota’s strong hybrid technology, Maruti Suzuki’s new hybrid system will adopt a series configuration, ideal for optimizing performance in stop-and-go traffic scenarios while offering a more cost-effective solution. While details regarding the 2025 Maruti Fronx facelift remain under wraps, we expect subtle updates both inside and out, alongside the introduction of the new hybrid powertrain.
