Jagan Denied Ticket to Kodali Nani?

Jagan Kodali Nani

If this news is accurate, it would indeed be surprising for the YSRCP cadre in the state. Kodali Venkateswara Rao, also known as Nani, has been elected thrice in a row from the Gudivada Assembly constituency, representing the YSRCP in both the 2014 and 2019 general elections.

YS Jagan utilized Kodali Nani extensively in countering TDP President Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh, making him a key figure in the party’s strategy.

Kodali Nani gained popularity as an MLA who employed strong and at times unparliamentary language, both inside and outside the legislative house.

However, recent reports suggest that Jagan may not be willing to field Kodali Nani as the YSRCP candidate from Gudivada in the upcoming elections.

The decision is rumored to be based on survey reports indicating that the TDP is leading in the Guidivada and Gudlavalleru mandals over the YSRCP, while both parties have equal strength in Nandivada.

In Nandivada TDP has slight edge over YSRCP whereas TDP has lead of 5k to 6k in Gudlavalleru Mandal. In Gudivada town, TDP has lead but there is tough fight exist between two in Gudivada rural.

In response to these findings, Jagan reportedly wishes to replace Kodali Nani with a candidate from the BC (Backward Class) category in Gudivada. Kodali Nani has been a loyal and vocal supporter of Jagan, often going beyond expectations in attacking Chandrababu Naidu.

If Jagan decides not to offer a ticket to Kodali Nani, it remains to be seen how he will react.

There is speculation about whether Kodali Nani would consider contesting as an independent candidate or aligning with another political entity.

The situation adds an element of intrigue to the unfolding dynamics within the YSRCP and the upcoming elections.
