WhatsApp has been continuously adding more features and design improvements every few weeks. In a new move, the instant messaging app has released four new ways to format text so that you can express yourself more accurately. These changes have been in testing for a few months now.
WhatsApp gets four new text formatting options
Meta has announced that it is bringing four new text formatting options to WhatsApp. These new styles include Block Quotes, Bulleted Lists, Inline Code, and Numbered Lists. To use Block Quotes, you can use “>” in front of your message, while starting the sentence with “-” initiates a new bulleted list. To start a numbered list, you need to start your message with “1.” and then keep adding new lines to add more entries to the list. To start an Inline Code, you need to add inverted commas at the start and end of your text.
All these new text formatting options are available starting today on Android, iOS, Mac, and the web. It isn’t clear when these new features will be available for WhatsApp for Windows OS. These new options join four text formatting options—Bold, Italic, Monospace, and Strikethrough—that are already available on WhatsApp.
Last year, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that it will bring AI-powered chatbot Meta AI to WhatsApp. He also revealed that the company has designed a custom sticker creator powered by AI for all its apps, including WhatsApp. However, none of those features have been released to WhatsApp users yet.
