Alia Bhatt, an actress who has named herself an amazing star due to her talent, is now transitioning to creating shows with a purpose. “Poacher” is an upcoming web series produced by Alia Bhatt under her banner.
The trailer, released a week ago, delves into a case where 14 wild elephants were killed for their valuable tusks. The perpetrators were later apprehended, and a substantial amount of elephant tusks were seized.
Richie Mehta, the director of the series, drew inspiration from a video of ivory smuggling shared by the Wildlife Trust of India. The show is based on true incidents of elephant poaching in the forests of Kerala from 2013 to 2015.
Having premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it received considerable acclaim, the series is set to premiere in just a few hours. Alia Bhatt has also shared her experience working on the series and being a part of it.
“Poacher,” starring Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Kani Kusruti, Ranjitha Menon, and Maala Parvathi, is scheduled to premiere tomorrow on February 23, 2024, on Prime Video.
