Since its debut in December 2022, the Toyota Innova Hycross has maintained its position as the best-selling hybrid vehicle in India. Admired for its SUV-like stance combined with the comfort of an MPV, premium features, efficiency, and adept handling, the model has garnered widespread acclaim. This is evident from the new milestone it has achieved, with 50,000 units sold in nearly 13 months since its launch. Currently, the MPV offers a diverse lineup comprising eight variants: GX 7STR, GX 8STR, VX 7STR Hybrid, VX 8STR Hybrid, VX (O) 7STR Hybrid, VX (O) 8STR Hybrid, ZX Hybrid, and ZX (O) Hybrid. Prices start at Rs 19.77 lakh for the GX 7STR variant and go up to Rs 30.68 lakh for the range-topping ZX (O) Hybrid variant, all prices being ex-showroom. The 7-seater version of the Innova Hycross features two captain’s chairs in the middle row, equipped with a segment-first ottoman function. The 8-seater model, on the other hand, offers bench seats for both the second and third rows, with three-point seat belts provided for all passengers.

Built on a monocoque chassis and Toyota’s TNGA-C platform, the Toyota Innova Hycross is available with petrol and strong hybrid powertrain options. The non-hybrid variant is powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox, delivering 172bhp and 205Nm of torque. The strong hybrid version, on the other hand, features a 2.0L petrol engine utilizing Toyota’s Atkinson cycle, producing a combined power output of 184bhp, paired with an e-Drive transmission.

Both engine options are exclusively available with a front-wheel drive (FWD) system only. Toyota claims impressive fuel efficiency figures, with the hybrid version achieving 23.24kmpl and the naturally aspirated petrol version offering 16.13kmpl.
