2 Cr Fake Grocery Racket Busted In Hyderabad

In a significant breakthrough, Hyderabad police, in collaboration with representatives from Marico Limited and Hindustan Unilever, successfully dismantled a notorious gang involved in the production and distribution of fake grocey and household items.

Operating clandestinely, the gang manufactured fake versions of popular products ranging from coconut oil to tea powder, washing powder, and cooking masalas, endangering the health and trust of consumers.

They used to sell them to Kirana shops and supermarkets as genuine products in and around Hyderabad and earn easy money illegally.

The crackdown unfolded across three locations, including Nagaram, Keesara Mandal, and Katedhan industrial area, where police raids led to the confiscation of counterfeit goods valued at a staggering ₹2 crore.

This operation not only disrupted the illicit operations of the gang but also sent a strong message against the proliferation of fake products in the market.

The arrested individuals, Mahendra Singh (29), Mithlesh Kumar (23), and Triyam Kumar (19), now face legal consequences for their involvement in this nefarious enterprise. However, the hunt continues for three other accomplices who remain at large.
