Sony’s Purchase of Aha Telugu OTT

Aha Video, the Telugu OTT platform backed by big names like Allu Aravind and Jupally Rameswar Rao, made waves in the first year of its launch.

Aha aggressively went on to buy big-star films and gave the impression that the OTT platform is here to stay, in fact debunking the myth that regional OTTs cannot survive.

However, if we look at it lately, Aha Video has stopped buying any exciting movies. Last year, it was heavily dependent on Balakrishna’s ‘Unstoppable,’ which kept the platform running.

Now, there are reports that Aha is up for sale, and Culver Max Entertainment (Sony Pictures Networks India) and Sun TV are in the fray to acquire the Aha Telugu OTT platform.

Sony Pictures clarified that the rumors regarding the purchase of the Aha platform are unfounded and not based on facts.

The name of Sun TV has also popped up in these rumors, and we need to wait to see if they will clarify.

According to rumored reports, the deal could be valued between Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 2,000 crore, but there is no official information on this.

Arha Media & Broadcasting owns the Telugu OTT video streaming platform Aha.
