Skoda India has unveiled its plans to enter the compact SUV segment within the next year. Additionally, at the same media event, the company has introduced the Kushaq Explorer Edition, showcasing off-roading elements and additional interior features. This special edition is based on the top-end Style trim and comes painted in a Matte Green colour with striking Orange highlights. Although, its official launch details are yet to be disclosed.
Externally, the Skoda Kushaq Explorer Edition is distinguished by a blacked-out finish on the front grille, badges, and wing mirrors, accentuated by Orange highlights on the grille, side body cladding, front bumper, and rear spoiler. The side profile features blacked-out 16-inch wheels paired with 215/65 section all-terrain tires, along with orange tow hooks at the front and rear, and a roof rack equipped with an auxiliary light bar, enhancing its off-road appearance.
Inside, the special edition Kushaq adopts a Matte Green theme on the dashboard, door pads, and center console, complemented by black seat upholstery with contrasting red piping. It offers all the features available on the regular Style trim, including a wireless phone charger, a 6-speaker sound system with a subwoofer, a single-pane sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, auto-dimming IRVMs, ventilated front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 3.5-inch multi-info display, ambient lighting, hill hold control, cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, multiple airbags, and an anti-theft alarm.
Under the hood, no changes have been implemented. The Kushaq Explorer retains the same powertrain options, including the 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI and 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI petrol engines, generating 115bhp with 178Nm and 150bhp with 250Nm, respectively. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, while automatic transmissions – a 6-speed torque converter and 7-speed DSG – are available for the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI variants.
