Royal Enfield is getting aggressive with its product strategy for the fast growing Indian market. The company is testing multiple new motorcycles including two new 650cc motorcycles and a new motorcycle based on the brand’s latest 450cc platform. In fact, the Royal Enfield 450cc Roadster has been caught in near production form. It is expected that the new 450cc Roadster will be launched before the end of this year.

The new Royal Enfield 450cc roadster will come with neo-retro styling, which we have already seen on the Hunter 350. The motorcycle is equipped with a traditional round-shaped LED headlight, LED tail-lamps, LED turn indicators and a shorter tail section. The spy images reveal that the motorcycle gets a swooping round tank and a single-piece seat.

The Royal Enfield 450cc roadster will come with a telescopic front fork and a monoshock unit at the rear. As a reference, the new Himalayan comes with a USD front fork. For braking, the motorcycle will have disc brakes and dual-channel ABS system. The Hunter 350 comes with a twin-shock absorber at the rear.

It is powered by a liquid-cooled, 451cc, single-cylinder engine that also powers the Himalayan 450. This engine is capable of producing 40bhp of power and 40Nm of torque. Royal Enfield will also offer various accessories with the new roadster such as top box, bar-end mirrors, etc. It will come with 17-inch alloy wheels.

RE Himalayan 452 Instrumentation

The motorcycle is likely to source the instrument console with in-built google Maps from the Himalayan 450. It will have a comfortable single-seat setup, slightly rear-set foot pegs and low-set handlebars to give a more sporty riding experience. The new motorcycle could be called the new Royal Enfield Hunter 450. It will directly rival the Triumph Speed 400, which is priced at Rs 2.33 lakh.
