Car manufacturers in India have released their sales figures for the month of February 2024. While Maruti Suzuki retains the top-spot with close to 2 lakh combined sales, Tata Motors manages to beat Hyundai in the domestic market. Mahindra has also reported a massive YoY sales growth of 40 per cent in February sales.
Maruti Suzuki Sales February 2024
Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,97,471 units in February 2024. The total sales in the last month include domestic sales of 1,63,397 units, sales to other OEM of 5,147 units and exports of 28,927 units. The total domestic sales increased to 1,63,397 units in February 2024 from 1,50,823 units in the same month last year. In the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki’s total sales were 1,72,321 units.
Hyundai Sales Feb 2024
The Korean automaker registered total sales of 60,501 units (domestic + exports) in February 2024 as against 57,581 units in the same month last year. The company sold 50,201 units in the domestic market last month as compared to 47,001 units in February 2023, reporting a YoY sales growth of 6.8%. Hyundai also achieved export sales of 10,300 units, registering a YoY negative sales of 5.07%.
Tata Motors Sales Report Feb 2024
In the domestic passenger vehicle market, Tata Motors sold 51,267 units in February 2024 as against 42,862 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 20 per cent. However, the company has reported a decline in its MoM sales with 55,633 vehicles sold in January 2024. The brand’s exports declined by 81% YoY to just 54 units in February 2024 as against 278 units in February 2023.
Mahindra Sales Report Feb 2024
Mahindra & Mahindra has reported a total sales of 72,923 vehicles (including exports) in the month of February 2024, reporting a YoY sales growth of 24%. In the utility vehicle segment, Mahindra sold 42,401 vehicles in the domestic market in February 2024 as against 30,358 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY growth of 40 per cent. The domestic sales for commercial vehicles stood at 22825.
According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “We sold a total of 42401 SUVs in February, with a growth of 40% and 72923 total vehicles, a 24% growth over last year. In our endeavour to make some of our SUVs available faster to consumers, we launched the Scorpio N Z8S variant and the Thar Earth edition this month.”
Toyota Sales February 2024
Toyota has reported its highest wholesale of 25,220 units in the month of February 2024. The company has reported a YoY sales growth of 61%, as it sold 15,685 units in the same month last year. While domestic sales stood at 23,300 units, the company’s exports stood at 1,920 units in the month. In the preceding month of January 2024, the company recorded its highest-ever monthly wholesales in India with 24,609 units.

Honda Sales February 2024
Honda Cars India registered monthly domestic sales of 7,142 units in February 2024 with a YoY sales growth of over 17% in comparison to the corresponding month last year. The export numbers for HCIL stood at 5,936 units in Feb’24. This is the highest ever monthly export volume clocked by the company that has been fuelled by strong export performance of cars made in India and exported to multiple global markets. The company had registered 6,086 units in domestic sales and exported 973 units in February’ 23.
Sharing thoughts on Feb’24 sales performance, Mr. Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “Our performance in February has been as per our plan. The Honda Elevate maintains its strong performance, further strengthening its presence in the market. The Honda City and Amaze also continue to perform well in their respective segments. In addition, our export performance has also been robust.”
MG Motor India Sales Report Feb 2024
MG Motor India has reported a total sales of 4532 units in February 2024 as against 3,825 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 18 per cent. Electric vehicles (EVs) continue to contribute a significant share of the carmaker’s overall vehicle sales, accounting for approximately 33 per cent of the total units sold in February 2024. The company is gearing up to work on potential logistics issues due to disruption in global shipping as a consequence of various international events.
