The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chosen Dr. Madhavi Latha Kompella to contest against Asaduddin Owaisi in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, aiming to bolster its presence in Telangana.
Dr. Kompella, the chairperson of Virinchi Hospitals, steps into a crucial electoral battle against Owaisi, highlighting a significant political showdown in Old City Hyderabad.
Endorsed by the BJP Central Election Committee, her nomination signifies a key moment leading up to the General Elections.
Dr. Kompella’s recent online visibility and vocal support for Hindu values have enhanced her appeal among voters.
Challenging Owaisi, a seasoned politician entrenched in Hyderabad’s politics, represents a bold maneuver by the BJP to disrupt the existing political landscape.
Dr. Madhavi Latha Kompella, besides being the Chairperson of Virinchi Hospitals, is a Bharatanatyam dancer and a homeschooling mother.
She also heads the Lopamudra Charitable Trust and the LathaMa Foundation, known for their work in healthcare, education, and food distribution in Hyderabad.
With an MA in Political Science from Koti Women’s College, she is recognized for her speeches advocating Hindu Dharma, particularly in the Old City area where she resides. Her speeches often gain traction on social media platforms.
This marks the BJP’s first nomination of a female candidate from Hyderabad. Previously, Dr. Bhagavanth Rao represented the party in the constituency.
