M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Hero Gopichand ahead of the release of his Bhimaa on March 8th as Maha Shivaratri Special.
Gopichand expressed confidence about the movie’s success. “Usually, I do not talk more about my films. The other day at the Pre-release event, I just told I am more confident this time. I get the vibe of a film during the dubbing. It looks like we got all elements right in the film,” the actor said.
Talking about the content of the film, he said, “Bhimaa is not a regular commercial entertainer. There is a semi-fantasy element which excited me. I did not do anything of that sort previously. There is also the commercial elements, emotions, and also a fun vibe in the character of Bhimaa to which everyone will connect”.
He spoke highly about the film director, A. Harsha, and the background score of KGF fame Ravi Basrur.
About the release date, he said, “Bhimaa was supposed to be released some other time. But it got changed. Probably, it is the will of God Shiva to release the film on Maha Shivaratri day”. He also spoke about the VFX of the film.
Gopichand elaborated on what went wrong with his previous film, Ramabanam.
“There are some things that are not under our control. We tried to redeem Ramabanam but that did not work out. I am someone who will caution the director when something is going wrong. But if he is firm on it, I will not interfere. But if there is good coordination between Hero, Director, and Producer, everything will be good,” he said.
“The problem with me is that I trust some people very easily and that is something to be corrected. After Ramabanam, I decided that I should be firm on something. I will be open about what I want. These are things that should happen. We will do this only if they can be honored. If not, let’s leave it,” Gopichand reveals the decision he took after the Ramabanam debacle. At the same time, he said he would not blame director Srivas completely.
He also spoke about his next film with Srinu Vaitla and refused to comment when asked about the issues in the film production.
He also explained the hint he dropped about doing a film with Prabhas at the Bhimaa Pre-release event.
