Maruti Suzuki has outlined an ambitious product strategy for the Indian market, aiming to introduce 10 new models, including 6 SUVs, over the next three years starting from the fiscal year 2025. With a strong focus on its upcoming SUV lineup, the Indo-Japanese automaker targets to increase its sales to 540,000 – 560,000 units by the financial year 2026, up from the current fiscal year’s 440,000 units. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki plans to double its annual production to 4 million vehicles by the end of the decade.
Regarding the forthcoming Maruti Suzuki UVs (utility vehicles), reports suggest the introduction of a micro SUV, a small SUV, a premium three-row SUV, and a compact three-row MPV, all expected to be rolled out between FY26 – FY27.
In addition, Maruti Suzuki intends to give the Fronx its first mid-life update in 2025 and introduce a new generation of the Baleno hatchback in 2026. Both models will incorporate the brand’s new hybrid system (HEV), enhancing their fuel efficiency. This hybrid technology will also be integrated into Maruti Suzuki’s mass-market vehicles, including the Swift hatchback (planned for 2027) and the next-generation Brezza (anticipated in 2029).
Furthermore, the Indo-Japanese automaker is preparing to unveil the third-generation Maruti Swift in March or April 2024. The all-new model will introduce Suzuki’s 82bhp, 1.2L Z-Series petrol engine equipped with mild hybrid technology. Significant enhancements are expected both inside and out, with the interior layout resembling the Fronx, featuring a dual-tone black/beige interior theme, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Maruti Suzuki’s plans also include the launch of four EVs, with the debut of its first electric SUV scheduled for October 2024. The EV range will expand to include a 7-seater electric SUV in March 2025, a small EV in May 2026, and an electric MPV in October 2026.
