Electric scooter maker, Ather is all set to launch its family-centric electric scooter, called the Ather Rizta at its Community Day on April 6. This family-oriented electric scooter has been spotted testing several times on the Indian roads.
Ather has also released multiple teasers, which reveals the overall silhouette of the Rizta. The electric scooter will target the TVS iQube, while the Ather 450 is placed as a sporty e-scooter competing with the Ola S1. The electric scooter has a flat and roomy floorboard. It is expected that the electric Ather Rizta will ride on 12-inch wheels.
Ather Energy’s co-founder and CEO, Tarun Mehta has released a picture of the Rizta’s seat next to the Ola S1 seat. The Rizta electric scooter has the exceptionally long seat, which is claimed to be more comfortable than the competition. The seat has a slight step up for the pillion, and appears significantly bigger and wider. However, it gets narrower for the rider to make it accessible for average Indian buyers.
Ather claims that it will be taking a big leap forward in comfort and safety with the Rizta electric scooter. It comes with a mid-mounted motor and not with a hub mounted motor available in the iQube. The previous spy images reveal that the electric scooter has a horizontal bar-type headlight and tail-lamp, a big grab handle for pillion and simpler rear view mirrors. The electric scooter is expected to be fitted with a 3.7kWh battery pack, which is also available on the 450X. The electric scooter is likely to offer a range of over 100km on a single charge.
