The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League is set to commence on the 22nd of this month. The first match is between Chennai and Bengaluru which is happening in Chennai on the 22nd of March.
Coming to the topic, the latest updates are suggesting that RCB talisman Virat Kohli might be skipping the coming season of IPL.
Kohli skipped the ongoing test series against England for personal reasons and this has fueled the speculation that he might skip the coming season of IPL as well. Veteran Sunil Gavaskar commented that there is a chance that Kohli hight extend his absence from cricket by skipping a part, or possibly even the entire season of IPL.
This could be in relation to Kohli and Anushka recently welcoming their second child and enjoying the phase of parenthood again.
Incidentally, former RCB player and a legend of the club Ab de Villiers who is very close to Kohli has also commented that “nothing is certain” about Kohli’s availability for this season. This has strengthened the speculation that Kohli might actually skip the IPL season.
Though this might sound far fetched given the kind of prominence that IPL has, there is uncertainty on this matter for now. We have to wait and see what will be Kohli’s decision.
