Volvo has launched a new single-motor variant of the XC40 Recharge in the Indian market. Called the XC40 Recharge Plus (E60), the new RWD variant is priced at Rs 54.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The electric SUV is also available in the dual-motor, AWD Ultimate variant, which is priced at Rs 57.9 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The single-motor variant will rival the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6 GT Line, which costs Rs 45.95 lakh and Rs 60.95 lakh respectively.

The electric SUV comes with a single motor that is mounted on the rear axle. The power and torque stands at 238bhp and 420Nm, respectively. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in 7.3 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 180kmph. It is packed with a 69kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is claimed to offer a WLTP range of 475km.
Key Features
The entry-level Volvo XC40 Recharge Plus or E60 misses out on some features that are available in the top-spec AWD variant. The single-motor variant misses out on Pixel LED headlamps, fog lamps, 360-degree camera and a Harman Kardon sound system. This variant is equipped with features like an 8-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, TPMS, park assist, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats and wireless phone charging.
It comes fitted with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with smartphone connectivity, and a 12-inch digital driver’s display. The SUV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels. The SUV comes with ADAS tech with features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, cross-traffic alerts, rear collision warning and others.
